The story behind the story:
This story is not just about the Turtles. It is about religion. It is about atheists and Buddhists and agnostics, and especially about Christianity and the people who believe in it. I attempted to use my favorite characters, the TMNT, to discuss religious issues which are among the most important and avoided topics in modern society. We don't talk about our beliefs nearly enough; we're afraid of being offensive.
If you are easily offended you may want to avoid this story. However, I invite the rest of you to view a highly entertaining journey into what it means to hang onto your faith.
It's December in 2004, shortly before Christmas. By a large majority, the TMNT, Splinter, April, Casey, Shadow, and (of course) Klunk have voted to head up to Northampton to spend the holiday. Donatello waits for them there, and everyone is looking forward to a great time with no bad guys or adventures to spoil the holiday. But the chance of a fun holiday seems to vanish as old conflict reemerges between Donatello and Raphael. Donatello and Raphael are both forced to take an entirely new view of themselves and each other.
Warning! This story contains some cursing and adult situations which may be inappropriate for some readers. This story is voluntarily rated PG for parental guidance. This story also contains religious discussion which may be offensive to some readers.
