Hi, I was rereading one of my other stories, trying to break through my "Ghosts" block, when a random request for a Don story suddenly got me thinking. Hope you enjoy this. TMNT belong to Peter Laird and everyone associated with him. Unfortunately, I am NOT associated with him.

Great Moments in Experimentation, or What I've Learned Through the Ages, by Hamato Donatello, age 7 years, 3 months, and 13 days.

1. You cannot make decent cocoa in the toilet. And, thinking back on this, if you could, who would want to drink it... apart from Mikey, that is, and then only 'cause he was three at the time.

2. It is not a good idea to mix vinegar and baking soda in small plastic bags. Especially it is not a good idea to show Raph, 'cause the mess is that much greater to clean up afterwards, and I get all the blame, even though he was the one who went through a whole box of plastic bags and all the baking soda and vinegar too.

3. Taking apart an electrical appliance should only be done AFTER it has been unplugged!

4. Taking apart an electrical appliance is forbidden without the express written permission of Sensei from now on!

5. Trying to hide a burn hole in the rug by getting a brother to sit on it while you try to find something else to cover it before Sensei gets home and finds out that you made the hole by trying to take apart an electrical appliance while it was still plugged in is not a good idea.

6. Especially if that brother is Mikey.

7. And he can't keep his mouth shut.

8. Turtles can't fly.

9. Teeth are easy to lose and do not grow back quickly.

10. Bottle rockets are cool but not in the living room.

11. Mixing one part water to five parts cornstarch makes a really neat matter that is solid and liquid at the same time. However, it can make a mess when dried, and if you don't add enough water when pouring it down the drain, it can cause a backup when dried. But the good news is, it tastes nasty, and it was funny to watch Mikey make those faces. Oh, and if you run enough water, it will eventually melt before Sensei finds out.

12. It is NOT a good idea to try to unclog the drain without letting Sensei know it was clogged in the first place.

13. Food coloring is only just for that and nothing else, no matter how much a brother might beg you with his puppy dog eyes to make him some fake blood so he can play a joke on everyone else.

14. It's also hard to get out of the rug.

15. Battery acid can burn!

16. Aluminum foil makes a pretty good wire when experimenting with batteries and old Christmas lights when making circuits.

17. It is not a good idea to cut up old Christmas lights unless you KNOW that they are old Christmas lights, and not something being saved for next Christmas.

18. A vacuum cleaner is not a scientific tool.

19. Hard boiled eggs WILL explode. Trust me on this one.

Don sat back in his chair, tapping his pencil on the report he was producing, admiring it's brilliance. Perhaps he could win a Nobel prize in Science- then maybe Sensei would unground him just long enough to go to Stockholm to accept the medal and cash...

He counted up the words, and sighed. Only four hundred seventy-four words, including the title. Just one thousand, five hundred twenty-six to go.

Ah well- no one said Science was easy!
